United CC faced Karachi Patriots in this nail biting encounter of the 15th Challengers Cup. United CC batted first and had a decent start as Sumair and Irfan scored 18 and 10 runs respectively. After the departure of openers, Wajahat and Usman took responsibility of scoring runs. And they performed their duty well, as Wajahat scored 22 runs and Usman managed to get 34 runs for his team. The lower order contributed well and enabled United CC to post a competitive total on the board. 2 wickets apiece were taken by Adnan Ghazi, Aamir Motiwala, Adeel Abbasi and Sameer Ahmedani, while 1 wicket was taken by Afzal Gigi. United CC finished off with 141 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
Karachi Patriots needed to bat with control in order to chase this total. But they had a nightmare of a start as they lost opening batsman Atif Ahmed for a duck. But the remedial work was done by Tayyab Balagamwala and Aamir Motiwala as they scored 28 and 43 runs respectively. This partnership made things easy for the upcoming batsmen who performed their job well. Adeel Abbasi along Faisal Butt ensured that their team does not lose any control as they scored 19 and 31 runs respectively. Asim and Raheel took 2 wickets each while 1 wicket was taken by Jawwad. It was the 19th over when Karachi Patriots chased the target and won the match by 2 wickets.
