Abbott batted first against Toyota Indus at the Magnus Sports 28th Challengers Corporate Cup.
The team were off to a decent start with opener Aijaz Hussain taking charge with a fiery 44. Haq Nawaz Khan kept the momentum going with his explosive 68 off 36 which included 7 fours and 4 sixes. The team then lost a flurry of quick wickets ending at 181 for 7 in 20 overs. Indus bowlers did well to try and pull back the opposition after a brisk start with Syed Danish and Syed Asad Ali taking 2 wickets each.
In response, Toyota Indus did well to post runs at the top before stumbling to a loss. Waqas Rasheed's valuable 46 and Syed Asad Ali's 32 put their side in a comfortable position. After they were dismissed however, the team were unable to keep their wickets intact or build any partnerships, ending at 150 for 7 in 20 overs. Abbott bowlers picked wickets in regular intervals. Faizan Pervaiz was the key bowler for their side with 3 wickets while Muhammad Azhar picked up a couple.
Abbott won by 31 runs.
