KGS v City School
Karachi Grammar School faced The City School DK-O Level at SKBZ Ground and KGS batted first. They had an excellent start as Zair got 31 and Ali got 42 but subsequently wickets kept falling at regular intervals and despite 24 by Zain and 10 by Suleman, they could only get to 141 runs for loss of 7 wickets in the allocated 20 overs. For The City School, Saad Paracha got 3 wickets for 14 runs while Hamid and Tabraiz got a wicket each.
The City School started off in determined fashion but dismissals of Saad for 12 and Hurair for 17 were followed by regular fall of wickets. Abdullah Aziz who had opened with Saad was the lone ranger as he fought hard and managed 76 runs but none of the other batsmen helped the cause as nobody else reached double figures and were dismissed cheaply. There were 3 ducks scored by the batsmen during the innings and Abdullah’s brilliant knock could not help his team gain victory. For KGS, all bowlers contributed with the ball as Zair got 3 wickets while Ali Anjum and Mustafa got 2 wickets each and Abdullah and Ali got a wicket each. The City School were all out for 128 runs in this hard fought encounter between the two teams.
KGS won by 13 runs.
