Adamjee Life Insurance defeated EFU Life Insurance in the opening match of the V-tracking Insurance Premier League 2020-21.
EFU Life Insurance batted first and were off to a good start as both openers performed well. Asad Tarani smashed 42 off 26 balls including 6 boundaries while Sharjeel Khan scored 29 off 24 balls. Although the batting lineup struggled in the middle, Sheraz Karim Khan’s 35 not out off just 24 balls helped the team reach a total of 161 runs. Adamjee’s Faizan Surani and Shrikant Parmar bagged 2 wickets each.
Adamjee Life Insurance wasted no time in chasing their target as Abdul Mohid played a brilliant innings of 92 off only 47 balls including 15 boundaries, with a strike rate of almost 200. Mujahid Siddiqui scored 34 off 19 balls to help the team and support his fellow opener. Muhammad Wasif’s 16 not out took the team over the line and they were able to successfully chase down the target set by the opponents. Ali Ahmed took 2 wickets for his side.
Adamjee Life Insurance won the match by 6 wickets.
