Dolphins CC took on Gulberg Gymkhana in a match that turned out to be a one-sided affair.
The Dolphins CC openers tore through the Gymkhana bowling line-up right from the word go. Akhtar Muhammad smashed bowlers all around the park, scoring a blistering 105 runs from 67 deliveries with 10 fours and 4 sixes to his name. His fine knock was well supported by his partner Luqman Zada, who amassed 66 runs from just 39 balls. By the time Abbas Raza trapped Luqman Zada in front for LBW, Dolphins CC had already posted a formidable total. Akhtar Muhammad remained not out as Gymkhana bowlers had no answers to Dolphin CC’s batting display.
In response, Gulberg Gymkhana got off to a rocky start in the second innings, with their opener Hassan Abbas dismissed for a golden duck. After two early wicket losses, Gymkhana never got going as Zain Khan chipped away at the batting line up, picking four crucial wickets. A promising 28 from 18 deliveries by Asad Siddiqui was the highlight of Gymkhana’s innings, with no batsman managing to score over 30 runs. Dolphin CC bowlers were disciplined and economical as they rolled over the opposition for 131 runs.
Dolphins CC won the match by 79 runs.
