Ali Sports and IDL Marketing went against each other on 5th October at the Lawai Cricket Ground for the Karachi Masters League Season V.
Arbaz Khan and Shoaib Jaffer opened the innings for Ali Sports. Where Arbaz scored 35 runs off 28 balls, Jaffer smashed 24 off 10 balls. Fouz Ul Hassan and Muhammad Waqas were successful in bagging 2 wickets each, hence, denting the batters’ momentum. However, it was Afroz Hassan who stabilised the innings, knocking a valuable 59 off just 33 balls. Ali Sports posted a total score of 185 runs in 20 overs.
Fouz Ul Hassan and Afaq Ahmed opened the innings for IDL Marketing to chase. Where Fouz scored 34 runs, Afaq lost his wicket on a duck. The batters lost wickets back-to-back, until Waleed Khan came to the crease. He scored a fighting 56 runs at a strike rate of 140. However, the bowlers dominated, as Hafiz Asad Baig bagged 4 wickets at an economy rate of 6.67. The bowlers of Ali Sports helped them defend the score and restricted the batters to a score of 139.
As a result, Ali Sports emerged winners by a solid 46 runs.
