Not many would have thought after Karachi Patriots piled up 207 in the first innings that they would end up the second-best side in this important fixture. What a turnaround it was for Dawson Stars as their star batsmen M.Ali Khan and Haider Ali partnered together to give their side a remarkable victory.
Karachi Patriots came out to bat first and the openers gave them a perfect start. Tayyab and Faisal both were in dangerous mood and they smashed the bowlers to all around the park. Tayyab was more aggressive and he scored 21 ball 35 with 2 fours and 2 sixes whereas his opening partner Faisal scored 40 of 37 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, both the openers were dismissed by Waqar Idrees and after them the score was propelled forward by Atif and Usman two more batsmen scored quick 40s, Atif Ahmed contributed 47 of just 19 balls in the partnership at a strike rate of 247 and 5 mighty sixes whereas Usman scored 43 of 19 with strike rate of 226 and he smashed 4 sixes. In the end Karachi Patriots got a big 207.
Karachi Patriots were mighty pleased after their first innings work but Dawson Stars were determined at the other end to chase it down. Even after losing one early wicket did not affect their morale as when Ali Khan and Haider Ali got together things started to get worse for Karachi Patriots. The batting pair with their partnership gave the belief to their side that the score is chase able. Ali Khan smashed 2 sixes on his way to 66 which came off 40 balls whereas Haider Ali scored 61 of just 31 at a strike rate of 196 with 5 mighty sixes. If they sat up the match for Dawson then Daniyal and Dawood finished it off in style, they added more than 40 together and scored 22 and 20 respectively and in the end only in 18.3 overs Dawson Stars chased down 207.
