Delhi Boyz batted first against Rajby at the DCCL Season 3. Opener Humayun Nadeem was dismissed early on for just 3 runs but his partner Umer Tasleem did well to try and build an innings and provide his side some stability. Umer contributed 89 off just 50 balls including 6 boundaries and 7 mammoth sixes. Delhi’s batters however seemed to lose wickets regularly with only Amir Batla able to effectively contribute with 25 runs and Faisal Ahmed’s cameo of 21 off 9. Rajby bowlers however had no discipline at all, giving away 31 extras. Abdul Majeed took 3 wickets while Bilal Shoaib picked up a couple as Delhi Boyz ended at a 187 for 8 in 20 overs.
In response, Rajby’s batting was all over the place and with a formidable total to chase, the pressure proved to be too much. Opener Muneeb Javaid got his side off to a decent start with 23 runs but continued to lose partners. Kamran Shahid then stepped up to try and give his side a real chance with a fighting 45 off 36 alongside Waqas Zafar who scored 29 not out. The team however fell short with Delhi’s bowlers putting on a solid performance. Rajby ended at 146 for 5 in 20 overs.
Delhi Boyz won by 41 runs.
