Chayell Kings batted first against Ilham Sports at the 27th Super Challengers Cup. Kings however had a rocky day out with the bat, unable to keep wickets in hand and score freely. Ilham bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings, picking wickets and stopping the flow of runs. Opener Noman Zafar top scored for his side with a meagre 17 runs as Chayell kings were restricted to 109 for 9 in 20 overs. Ilham bowler Zia Moinuddin was on fire, picking up 3 key wickets in his spell at an economy rate of just 3.50. Mustafa Aman Ali also kept things tidy with his 2 wickets.
In response, Ilham Sports opener Zain Ahmed did well to set the tone for his side despite the team losing 3 early wickets. Zain knocked a valuable 36 off 35 runs at the top while Taqi Azad provided further support with his 30 off 22 as Ilham Sports chased down the target in just 15 overs. Kings bowlers tried to restrict the opposition and did well to pick early wickets but it wasn’t enough to defend their small total. Kamran Siddiqui and Ibtehaj Aslam took 2 wickets each.
Ilham Sports won by 4 wickets.
