All Round Liaquat Crushes Gymkhana In Final

After a hard fought tournament, the Royal Group Falcons clashed with Muslim Gymkhana in the final of the Al-Wakeel Cricket League.

Royal Group Falcons batted first in the all-important final, making the most of this opportunity. Daniyal Liaquat set ablaze the match with his fiery century at the top. He scored 101 off 55 balls, with 10 fours and 6 sixes to his name. Gymkhana bowlers had no significant response to this onslaught as Liaquat dominated the first innings through and through. Other batsmen made smaller contributions alongside, with Idrees Amin scoring 25 from 16 down the order. From Gymkhana’s side, almost every bowler picked a wicket but the scoring rate remained around 10 runs an over. Ultimately, Liaquat’s efforts propelled the Falcons to post mammoth 190 on the board.

In response, none of Gymkhana’s batsmen could match Liaquat’s first inning heroics as the batting faltered. The top order immediately succumbed to the scoreboard pressure and fell quickly one after another. Shoaib Mirza and Waseem Ali tried to revive the batting effort down the order with some elegant stroke play but eventually fell to a disciplined bowling display. Daniyal Liaquat shone once again in the second innings, picking 3 wickets for 15 runs in his 4 overs. The diligent bowling kept knocking down Gymkhana’s wickets regularly, rolling them over for 127 inside 18.4 overs.

With Liaquat’s brilliant batting and bowling displays, the Falcons completely destroyed Gymkhana, winning the match by a hefty 63 runs to lift the trophy.
