Karachi Patriots played against Wonder Boys at Aga Khan Gymkhana as part of the 20th Challengers cup. Patriots batted first and Ghazanfar Richie got them off to a good start with 31 off 15 balls before being run out. Faraz Ahmed continued to score briskly and contributed 66 off 43 balls but the middle order failed as Faisal Butt got out for 4 runs, Adeel Abbasi and Amir Motiwala for 12 each and Tayyab R Balagamwala without scoring and Patriots squandered the opportunity to score big after a good start and were all out for 159 runs. For Wonder boys, Imran Ali and Sajid Ashfaq were the key bowlers picking up 3 wickets each. Rameez also took 2 wickets and Kashif got a wicket.
In reply, Madni Bawany played a crucial role for Wonder Boys with a match winning innings as he got 72 off 59 balls while Saad Razzak knocked 30 runs and Sheraz Rana scored an unbeaten 35 off 18 balls at a strike rate of 195% in which he hit 3 sixes and a boundary. Atif Ali got 11 off 4 as Wonder Boys got home for the loss of just 2 wickets and with 9 balls to spare. For Patriots, Sameer Ahmedani and Afzal Gigi took a wicket each.
