Allied Engineering beat Team NSL in a match in the 33rd Challengers Corporate Cup.
Allied Engineering batted first and although they lost one of their openers early in the innings, their other opener Abdul Bari Khan smashed a quickfire 57 off 26 balls, including 9 boundaries. Although there were some wickets lost in the middle, Adil Fayyaz played a fantastic knock of 68 not out off 36 balls, including 9 boundaries. Ibrahim Huzaifa also contributed 23 runs and the team reached a total of 181 runs. Team NSL’s Salman Memon and Shahid Mushtaq took 2 wickets each.
Team NSL lost one opener for 3 runs but Farrukh Shahid made 22 runs off 20 balls to help the team recover. Raziq Kayani’s 38 off 37 balls and Azhar Khan’s 20 off 10 balls stabilized the team. After losing successive wickets, Umair Ali made 21 runs while Shoaib Rathore made 25 runs. Despite their efforts, the team fell short of the target. Abid Altaf bagged 3 wickets while Adil Fayyaz and Mohammad Muzammil Tariq took 2 wickets each.
Allied Engineering won by 15 runs.
