Hush Puppies batted first against IUMVW with the batting side coming out strong. Despite losing opener Afnan Karim for just 8 runs, the team was determined to keep the momentum in their favour with opener Farhan Iqbal and one down Daniyal posting 44 and 40 respectively to put their side in a commanding position. The team however did lose wickets regularly with 2 run outs and 2 key wickets to Rehan Anwer keeping them at a competitive 177 for 7 in 20 overs.
In response, IUMVW were a complete mess with their top 3 batsmen being out for just 4 runs. The team could not recover after that despite a heroic innings of 73 not out off 53 by Haseeb who tried to singlehandedly take his side to victory. He however needed supoort on the other end and could not find a partner to keep the scoreboard ticking. Ahmed Waqar chipped in with 26 but it was simply not enough! Afnan Karim who has been in absolutely incredible form turned up once again with a fifer, giving away just 6 runs in 3 overs. Hasan Alam also chipped in with 2 wickets but IUMVW were restricted to 149 for 9 in 20 overs.
Hush Puppies won by 28 runs.
