Bank Islami claimed an easy victory against Karachi Boat Club in a match in the 32nd Challengers Corporate Cup.
Karachi Boat Club lost both openers for single digit scores of 1 and 4 respectively. One-down batsman Abdur Rehman played an integral knock for his team, making 46 off 45 balls. After his dismissal, the remaining batsmen skittled out and the team reached an underwhelming score of only 94 runs. Bank Islami’s Sohail Ahmed claimed 3 wickets while Waseem Ali and Abdul Majid Shah took 2 wickets each.
Bank Islami’s batsmen remained calm and composed throughout the innings, and both openers maintained a steady flow of runs. Waseem Ali made 20 runs while Khurram Iqbal Shamsi made 39 not out. He, along with Maqbool Ur Rehman (34* off 20 balls), built a strong partnership to ensure that their team faced no difficulties in chasing the small target.
