Faysal Bank and Bank Islami faced each other this past Saturday at Al Mansoora cricket ground. Batting first, Bank Islami lost opener Shafqat Hussain cheaply for 2 but put up a strong fight after that. His opener Fahad Khan and one down Usman Farhat partnered up to scored 59 and 65 runs respectively, getting Bank Islami back on track. Once the duo were dismissed however, the team fell apart losing quick wickets before Zain chipped in 16 runs. Faysal Bank's bowlers Afaq Ahmed and Talib Ali did well to pick up 2 wickets each in their spells. Bank Islami ended at 163 for 7 in 20 overs.
In response, Faysal Bank were off to a promising start with Bilal Aqleem and Syed Amir knocking 18 and 14 respectively. However the team lost wickets too regularly and were unable to keep a steady flow of runs going. Talib Ali and Adnan Khan Tanoli tried to save their side with fighting knocks of 24 and 43 runs. Abdul Majid Shah was brilliant in his spell, picking up 4 wickets for his side. Waseem Ali also took 2 wickets while Ahmer got a wicket to restrict Faysal Bank to 138 for 7 in 20 overs.
Bank Islami won the match by 25 runs.
