Benitoz Panthers batted first against Secure Networks at the Trend Micro 29th Challengers Corporate Cup.
Panthers top order put together a few cameos to help their side post a competitive 175 for 9 in 20 overs. Opener M.Ali top scored for his side with an impressive 47. Secure bowlers did well to pull back the opposition, picking up wickets in regular intervals, not letting the game get away from them. Asad lead the attack with his 3 wickets while Bilal Munir and Raheem Marwat took 2 wickets each.
In response, Secure Networks seemed to be well on their way to a comfortable victory. Openers Kamran Wali and Kashif Ali kicked things off with 30 and 42 while Rana's 41 and a handy cameo of 24 by Khuzaima had their side in a dominant position. The team however fell apart after that with the lower order imploding. A series of quick wickets with 6 dismissals in single digits including 3 ducks had Secure Networks restricted to 154 runs. Hamza Qadir was in fine form, picking up 4 wickets in his spell while Madni Waqas Raja provided support with his 3 wickets.
Benitoz Panthers won by 21 runs.
