What an epic end to the 20th Challengers Cup! Benitoz Panthers and Hill Park CC went head to head at Hill Park Cricket Ground at the grand final of the tournament. Hill Park CC batted first and struggled to get going at any stage of the innings. Panthers bowlers were on top of their game, picking up wickets when needed and applying pressure to restrict the opposition. Fauz Ul Hasan and Waleed Khan were the lone fighters in their squad with cameos of 20 each as Waqas Ali Vohra, Umer Chawla and Madni Waqas Raja picked up 2 wickets each to clean up Hill Park CC for 108 runs in 19 overs.
In response, Benitoz Panthers lost opener Ahmed Arshad for just 2 runs. Hill Park bowlers fought back, picking up wickets consistently, doing well to contain the chasing side. Opener Daniyal Liaquat scored 19 runs while Mohib Ahsan was the most notable contributor for his side with a responsible 25 not out that eventually helped Panthers over the line. An in-form Yasir Manzoor was outstanding in his spell, picking up 3 wickets while Fauz Ul Hasan picked up a couple. Hill Park bowlers almost pulled off the victory but Panthers eventually scraped to 109 for 9 in 20 overs.
An incredible, hard fought game between 2 top teams with Benitoz Panthers being crowned champions by 1 wicket.
