In a Group match of the Bohra Champions League 2017, played at the Annu Bhai Park, Burhani Cricket Club took on the Saify Cricket Club, in what turned out to be a one sided affair.
Batting first, Burhani CC took off confidently with Murtaza Ali scoring a brisk 44 runs in 38 balls, with 2 fours and 2 sixes to his name. Middle order batsman, Adnan Nooruddin then ended the innings on a positive note, scoring an assertive 16 runs, to guide the Burhani CC to a competitive score of 139 runs, for the loss of 8 wickets. For the Saify CC, Mustafa Nino and Abbas Ashraf were the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets each.
Saify CC, chasing 140 runs, at 7 runs an over, began in a confident manner with both openers getting decent starts. Abbas Ashraf scored a valuable 15 runs to set the momentum for the chase. However, the Burhani CC dominated the innings throughout, taking quick wickets in short intervals. Abid Ali and Saifuddin Ibrahim shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets each, for 27 and 10 runs respectively. Thus, courtesy some brilliant bowling, Saify CC were dismissed for just 84 runs
Burhani CC won the game by a huge margin of 55 runs.
