The Trail Blazers batted first in their match-up versus HMH Boutique in CPL Season 2.
The batting side put on a disciplined show in the first innings with almost everyone in the top and middle order scoring productively. Four batsmen made 30+ scores, pushing the Blazers above the 150 mark. HMH Boutique bowlers also did well to not let the run flow get out of hand as Ahmed Maani picked up 3 wickets, giving away just 25 runs in his 4 overs. The first innings ended with HMH Boutique needing to chase down 164.
The response from HMH started off steady as the openers operated around 6 runs an over. Hasnain Bouchia scored a crafty 42 from 41 deliveries. Following this stable beginning, however, the batting line up completely collapsed. The Blazers threw a combination of ten bowlers at the batsmen, a trick that worked for the bowling side as wickets kept tumbling. Without any real intent from HMH Boutique's batsmen, the team was able to post just 142 in 20 overs.
The Trail Blazers won by 21 runs.
