BMCC defeated Sky Hawks in the final match of the 25th Challengers Cup on Sunday.
Batting first, BMCC were off to a decent start as their openers made 8 and 12 runs respectively. One down batsman Umair Paracha hammered 57 off 47 balls including 6 boundaries, while Umer Khan Paracha scored 28 off 21 balls, including 4 boundaries. Their efforts led the team to a defendable total of 148 runs. Sky Hawks’ Latif Ahmed took 2 wickets for his side.
Sky Hawks batted in the second innings and struggled to perform, losing one opener for a duck. The other opener Abdul Mussawir made a run-a-ball 15 but after his dismissal the team’s batting lineup collapsed. None of the batsmen were able to contribute significantly. BMCC’s bowling attack rattled the batsmen and got the whole team out for just 73 runs. Usman Jaffrani bagged 3 wickets while Abdul Hadi, Hamza Khalid and Ahmed Kabir claimed 2 wickets each.
BMCC dominated against their opponent and won the match by 75 runs.
