BMCC were matched up against the SKY Hawks in the 25th Challengers Cup.
The first innings featured a batting display from BMCC. Opener Umair Paracha stood out among the top order, producing a fine half century. His 53 off 41 came as a result of 6 crisp boundaries and 1 six. Unfortunately for Paracha, wickets kept on falling at the other end, increasing the scoring pressure on him. Abdullah Siraj shone in the bowling department with 3 wickets at the cost of just 27 runs. With the batting side faltering away, the run rate stayed around 7.5 runs an over. BMCC were bowled out for 153.
In the second innings, BMCC were able to string together a commendable bowling performance. SKY Hawks never got going right from the start. Their openers operated slowly, letting the required run rate climb steadily. Following this, a couple of cheap wickets in the middle derailed the chase and put BMCC on top. Waqas Rao at No. 7 top-scored for his team with 31 from 15 deliveries, but his efforts were not enough to meet the required run rate. Eventually, the batting side succumbed to the pressure of the chase and folded for 128 in 19.3 overs. Areeb Sheikh showed a disciplined performance and picked 4 wickets for 17 runs.
BMCC won the game comfortably by 25 runs.
