The opening match of the Bohra Champions League 2017 was contested between the Burhani Cricket Club and the Mufaddal Titans, at the Al Nadil Burhani Ground. The opening ceremony of the tournament was graced by the presence of former Pakistani cricketer Shadab Kabir.
Burhani CC, after electing to bat first, were off to a flying start, with opener Saifuddin Ibrahim leading the onslaught with a 20 ball knock of 24 runs with 3 fours to his name. With the momentum set by the top 3 batsmen, Ammar Muhammad came out to score a dazzling 88 runs in only 44 balls, with 6 fours and 6 huge sixes. Adnan Nooruddin also played well to score 35 runs with the aid of 2 fours and a six. For the Titans', Hatim Fakhruddin was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets for 30 runs. Burhani CC ended their quota of 20 overs, at a massive total of 206 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
Mufaddal Titans, chasing 207, took off in a confident manner, with opener Mustafa Halai scoring 24 runs in 20 balls with 4 fours. However, the Burhani CC bowlers, continued their excellence with the ball, dismissing the next 5 batsmen without conceding a run! Abid Ali finished with figures of 2 overs, 9 runs and 4 wickets while Ammar Muhammad picked up 2 wickets for 4 runs in his 2 overs. The Titans were dismissed for just 80 runs in only 11.5 overs.
Burhani CC won the opening match of the Bohra Champions League 2017 by a huge margin of 126 runs.
