Butt Brothers and Shan XI played against each other as part of the 20th Challengers Cup match at TMC Cricket ground. It was a high scoring encounter as Butt Brothers batted first and Ameer Raza Khan with 58 runs off 27 balls and Owais Pasta with 29 runs off 15 balls got them off to a good start. However, Kamran Butt and Noman Butt were dismissed cheaply and Bilal Omer with 34 and Fazeel with 32 then took over. 27 extras were also conceded by Shan XI which ensured that Butt Brothers ended at a high score of 226 for the loss of 9 wickets. For Shan XI, Zohaib, Shahid and Kamran took 2 wickets each to try and pull the score back while Zain, Zeeshan and Fahad got a wicket each.
In reply, Shan Xi, the defending champions were not going to give up without a fight and they started off well as Aqeel scored 43 off 27 and Kamran got 53 runs off just 26 deliveries. Zeeshan Haider with 32 off 16 and Babat with 38 off 22 got them close but in the end, Shan XI fell short by 16 runs as they ended at 210 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Butt Brothers, Khalid Khursheed got 2 wickets while Owais Pasta, Yusuf and Furqan took a wicket each.
