Lucky Knits and Civil Aviation Authority went head to head at KCCA this past Saturday. Batting first, CAA's opening pair Irfan and Kamran got their team off to a good start, contributing 21 and 26 runs. One down Atta Muhammad then took things a step further with a scintillating knock of 51 which included 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. With the top order setting the foundation, minor cameos by Asif Khan and Farzand of 21 and 19 further boosted CAA to a very competitive 167 for 7 in 20 overs. For Lucky, Waqar Ahmed struck with the ball, taking 3 wickets in his spell while Naeem, Amir and Hamid also chipped in with a wicket.
In response Lucky Knits lost opener Siraj for just 2 runs but the team recovered well. While his partner Fawad knocked 24, it was really one down batsman Asif who shined. His exquisite knock of 88 included 9 boundaries and a six and seemed to be the innings Lucky needed but the team kept losing wickets constantly. 3 quick wickets and Asif's eventual dismissal and the team found themselves struggling to chase down the target. Shabi tried with 10 runs but Lucky Knits were limited to 150 for 7 in 20 overs. Nazir took 2 wickets for CAA.
Civil Aviation Authority won by 17 runs.
