Chaudhry Saif wrecks havock over Gulberg Gymkhana

Medicam Stars came in to bat first & were off to a flying start. Their openers Chaudhry Saif & Ekramah Yaqoob put up a partnership of 100+ runs completely blowing away the bowlers. The duo gave their team an accelerating start putting their team in a dominant position right from the start. Chaudhry Saif went absolutely berserk as he thrashed the bowlers like child’s play. He made batting look so easy as he struck the ball cleanly towards all parts of the ground hitting out every bowler that was brought into the match.  Ekramah Yaqoob departed after scoring 27 runs off 25 deliveries. Shayan Mateen came in & he scored run a ball 19 runs. Chaudhry Saif continued going his merry way as he showed us an absolute batting masterclass. He played a dismissive innings of 182 runs off just 70 deliveries. Sami Ghouri managed to pickup a couple of wickets but went for plenty. Medicam Stars posted a mammoth total of 246 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Gulberg Gymkhana came in to chase this target & were off to a shaky start. Despite loosing 2 wickets inside the powerplay they were scoring at a high rate. Farukh Rizvi & Hassan Jafri took the attack towards the bowlers. The duo put up a partnership of 100+ runs keeping their team in the run chase. Both the batsmen took charge & there was power hitting on display from both the ends. Farukh Rizvi played a sublime knock of 69 runs off 32 deliveries where as Hassan Jafri played a fiery innings of 69 runs off just 36 deliveries. Sher Khan came in & he played with the same intent as he too scored 37 runs off just 15 deliveries. The rest of the batting lineup completely collapsed as the bowlers kept on picking up wickets at regular intervals not allowing the batsmen to settle in. Faraz Ahmed lead the bowling attack picking up 3 wickets. He found good support from Mamoon Imtiaz who picked up a couple of wickets. Gulberg Gymkhana were bowled out for 220 runs in 19.3 overs.
