Batting first, Chiniot Kangaroos posted a mammoth total of 222 at the loss of 5 wickets. The openers and the one-down batter gave them a steady start, as they scored 65 runs collectively. Umair Tariq stood out with his knock of 76 runs at the strike rate of 168.89. He remained not out, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. Muhib Imran’s cameo of 43 runs off just 16 balls was crucial to the team. Salman Dosani took one wicket, while Imran Muhammadi, Suleman Saleem and Owais Pasta dismissed a batter each.
The chase was opened by Shahriyar Shahid and Noman Ampara from MF Roomi Strikers, scoring 8 and 9 runs only respectively. Though Owais smashed 96 runs at a strike rate of 282.35. However, his innings were not enough, as the other batters did not mark a significant impact. Yasir Manzoor was clinical, as he bagged 4 crucial wickets. In addition to this, Danish Alvi took 2 wickets while Waqas Manzoor knocked a wicket off.
As a result, Chiniot Kangaroos defended their score in a neck-to-neck effort by 9 runs only.
