City Tiles and IDL Marketing went head-to-head against each other on 13th October at DHA Sports Club.
Imtiaz Ahmed and Faisal Shahid opened the innings for IDL Marketing. However, both were unable to make a significant impact, as they lost their wickets on 7 and 1 run respectively. The upper- and middle-order batters displayed a poor effort, as none of them were able to score in two figures. Jibran Saeed confidently led the bowling attack and dismissed 3 batters. In addition to this, Faizan Shoaib knocked 2 wickets off. The lower-order batters, Saad Shahid and Abdullah Abdul Rehman, scored 32 and 33 runs respectively. Hence, they led the team to a score of 105 runs.
Yahya Rizwan and Moiz Sultan opened the innings for City Tiles to chase. Much to the team’s dismay the upper-order did not give the start that was needed. The first four batters were able to score a collective of 14 runs only. Zakir Taqi’s spells were crucial in dismissing the top 3 batters in the order. Emaduddin Zia stabilised the innings with his score of 28 runs. In addition to this, Khalid Saleem scored 14 runs while Faizan Shoaib added 18 runs to the score. Jibran Saeed smashed 24 off 12 balls and remained not out.
Hence, the lower-order of City Tiles led the team to a victory in the 18th over.
