The ACM Gold League saw two old rivals clash as Cocoon Home took on Extras on the 26th of March 2016 at Moin Khan Cricket Academy.
Extras batted first and Rafeh Ahmed(43) and Atif Ahmed(44) looked in deadly touch smashing the bowlers to all parks as they took the team total past 50 with considerable ease. After their dismissals, Bilal(23), Asad(26) and Hassan(25) kept the momentum going. Raza was the standout bowler for Cocoon as he picked up three wickets. Extras finished their innings on 185 for 7 after 20 overs leaving Cocoon to chase at more than 9 runs per over.
The Cocoon openers stepped out with determination and a will to fight all the way. Abdur Rehman slammed a quick fire 38 of only 15 balls to give his side the perfect platform. His dismissal brought Yasir to the crease and he along with Bilal took control of the run chase. The pair picked up singles and doubles regularly and smashed boundaries at will. The Extras bowlers looked helpless as both batsmen motored to half centuries. Yasir got out after scoring 58 off 36 balls but Bilal continued on his merry ways scoring a magnificent 78 off 41 balls to seal victory for Cocoon Home by a staggering 8 wickets.
