Cocoon Home batted first, losing their opener Anas (9) to a brilliant piece of work in the field. The team stumbled throughout the innings, unable to gain stability or keep wickets intact. Patriots bowlers were ruthless against the opposition with Rizwan Merchant striking twice consecutively to get Abid and Yasir out for duck! Things were looking hopeless for the batting side before Humayun Alamgir stepped in to score a fiery and 46 runs to keep his team's chances alive. He was also supported by Hasan who contributed a valuable 27 runs. Rehan Hanif was the star bowler, ripping through the opposition, taking 4 huge wickets and bowling out Cocoon Home for 125 in 19.5 overs.
Karachi Patriots were off to a rocky start in their chase, losing opener Usman Ghani for duck! The team was completely outdone by a wonderful display of bowling and were unable to take control of the innings at any stage. Tayyab Balagamwala (17), Faisal Butt (24) and Faraz Ahmed (23) were the only notable contributors with the bat, fighting hard to push their team over the line. Raza and Anas however, did maximum damage with the ball, taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively to stump the Patriots batsmen. With 6 of their batsmen out in single digits, the Patriots fell under pressure and were unable to successfully chase the total. Karachi Patriots were all out for 87 in 19.3 overs.
Cocoon Home won by 38 runs and secured a place in the final.
