Karachi Fighters Vs Dawson Stars (15th Challengers Cup)
M. Ali Khan with a legendary performance ensured a victory spot for Dawson Stars.
The first innings started off in favor of Karachi Fighters, when their opening batsmen played a wonderful partnership of 62 runs. Faizan Ur Rehman scored 27 runs and Umer Razzaq scored 35 runs off 27 balls. Both of the players gave their side a flying start and kept the scoreboard ticking. After there dismissal, Suleman Ghani and Ikhtyar Shah again carried an outstanding partnership of 132 runs. Suleman scored 77 runs and Ikhtyar scored 55 runs. Dawson Stars bowlers were helpless against the opposition, unable to limit the free flow of runs. Waqar Parchi and Madni Zubair were the only notable bowlers, picking up 1 wicket each. By the end of 20 overs, Karachi Fighters posted a target of 206 runs.
Haider Ali and M. Khurram started the second innings for Dawson Stars, and gave their side a positive push by carrying a partnership of 47 runs. Soon after they were sent back to the dressing room M. Ali Khan stepped on the pitch to bat for his side against the strong bowling attack of the Karachi Fighters. After M. Ali Khan, no player was successful in grabbing runs for their side, and M. Ali Khan displayed top form and single handedly took his team all they way to victory by playing an absolutely terrific innings of 143 runs just off 70 balls. Ashfaq ur Rahman fought hard to defend his team's sizeable total, taking 3 key wickets but was unable to stop the onslaught. Dawson Stars chased the target in 18.2 overs, and won the match by 5 wickets.
