Naakians batted first against City Hawks and dominated with both bat and ball at the Bold presents 1st KheloKricket Amateur League.
Faizan Zaheer and Noman Shahid put up a brilliant opening stand of 67 and 65 runs respectively to put their team on top. Hawks bowlers struggled to pick early wickets and ended up conceding 199 runs in total. Faizan Farooq and Farman Khan were the key wicket takers with 2 wickets each but were unable to create any impact.
In response, Naakians struck from the first ball, bowling out the opener Habib Ur Rehman for duck. Things continued to take a turn for the worse as Hawks batsmen threw away their wickets with the exception of captain Saad Mehmood. Saad was the only player to show any intent with a fighting 43 off 31 which included 1 four and 1 six. Naakians bowlers kept the pressure on with Taqi Merchant, Faisal Anis and Wajih Khan taking 2 wickets each to bowl out City Hawks for 116 runs in 18.5 overs.
Naakians won by 83 runs.
