A nail biter ensued at the 2nd match of the Al Wakeel Cricket League Season 3.
Batting first against Muslim Gymkhana, Downtown Real Estate Builders and Developers were off to a dream start with openers Fahad Jabbar and Faisal Butt leading the charge. Fahad was in lethal form with 58 off 44 while Faisal smashed 60 off 41. By the time Muslim Gymkhana were able to break this partnership, the damage had already been done. The bowlers then picked up a few wickets but Adeel Sabuwala's 30 off 18 ensured Builders ended at 176 for 6 in 20 overs. Hammad Imran was the key wicket taker for his side with 2 scalps.
In response, Muslim Gymkhana stumbled in the chase. Getting off to some decent starts but never really able to take off, Gymkhana's batsmen kept the game interesting. Despite losing wickets, their batsmen continued to chip away at the score with minor cameos that almost won them the game. Fareed Shah Arbab continued his outstanding form lately with a fighting 46 but could not find a partner who could provide the support he needed. Builders bowlers did well to keep the pressure on, picking up wickets throughout the innings but it was 3 unfortunate run outs that sealed their victory at the end. Adeel Abbasi lead the attack with his 3 wickets while Salman Dossani picked up a couple. Muslim Gymkhana eventually fell short, being dismissed for 171 in 19.5 overs.
