EFU General batted first against EFU Life Insurance and lost opener Zaib Kamal for duck on the very first ball of the innings. The team continued to lose a few quick wickets before Ahmed Nawaz stepped in to stabilise the innings. His valuable knock of 69 off just 51 balls helped pull his side to recovery, followed by Arsalan Ashraf's 40 that boosted EFU General to a respectable 161 for 8 in 20 overs. Life's bowler Ajaz Ali was in form and on fire picking up 4 wickets in his spell. Asad Abbas also kept the pressure on with his 2 wickets.
In response, EFU Life also lost opener Sheraz Khan cheaply for just 5 runs. The team then continued to lose wickets in regular intervals, unable to capitalize on some decent starts. Mirza Ahmed and Ajaz Ali tried to fight back with cameos of 27 while Asad Abbas was the most notable batsmen for his side with 34 runs. General's bowlers kept the momentum in their favour, picking up wickets regularly and giving away nothing. Qudrat Ullah took 3 wickets while Hussain Mustafa and Tariq Mehmood took 2 wickets each as EFU Life were dismissed for 125 in 19 overs.
