Energetic Emeralds vs Outstanding Opals
Al Burani League
A run fest it was, a placid track and with some extra ordinary players in both side it was an evenly matched contest and it lived up to what was expected of it. Energetic Emeralds had a dream start when they went out to bat in the first innings with Habib Ali and Taha Qadi did play extra-ordinary innings at the top. They never were troubled and were quick on their feet, the ball was smashed for sixes and fours at quite many times. The innings had a majestic start and the bowlers could not do anything about it. Taha Qadi played at a strike rate of 166 and scored 60 of 36 balls and his partner was even better as Habib Ali played an astonishing innings of 96 from 53 balls. The platform was set for the middle order to come and express themselves and they took advantage of it, Mustansir and Ammar played quick little innings of 30 and 22 respectively to take the score to 219 in 20 overs.
After a disappointing outing with the ball, Outstanding Opals were hoping for a better response with the bat but they got off to a poor start losing Qumber Ali for a golden duck, it was an early shock for Outstanding Opals and even after that early loss they struggled to score quickly. Shabbir Mithai could not help much as he was struggling to score any quick runs, the bowlers made his stay difficult in the middle. On the other hand, Ali Akber scored a quick 50 to keep his side in the contest. But that was not enough for Outstanding Opals as they had to keep improving with each ball and that was not the case and they were left to do too much in the end, Ibrahim Jodia picked up 3 wickets to help his side to an easy victory in the end by 49 runs.
