Team Falcon came up against Karachi Stallions at SKBZ cricket ground in a friendly match.
Samad Ghani got the Stallions underway in fine fashion scoring a crisp half century that comprised of 8 sublime boundaries. However support was limited at the other end and only a late 40 off 19 balls by Amar added the muscle the innings so desperately needed. Waqar and Athar were influential in putting the breaks during the middle overs picking up 4 and 3 wickets respectively. The Stallions ended their innings at 175 for 9 in 20 overs.
Confronting a stiff target, the Falcons came out all guns blazing but lost Shahzad for a duck. This brought Mehmood to the wicket and he seemed up for the challenge, smashing 9 fours and 3 sixes and striking at a touch over 160 to score 74 off 46. The heat got the better off him and he had to retire but by then he had knocked the wind out of the Stallions sails as Falcons glided to a six wicket victory with two overs to spare.
