FC Sports defeated BurnOut 40 in a match in the 26th Challengers Cup.
BurnOut 40 were put into bat in the first innings and showed no resistance to the bowling attack. They lost their openers for 9 runs and 1 run respectively. Middle order batsmen Jawad Tirmizi and Abdul Rehman attempted to pull up the team, but they could only manage to make 17 runs each. Lower in the batting order, Obaid Anees contributed 14 runs while Abdullah Azam made 13 runs. The batsmen were weak in the face of the bowlers and only reached a total of 104 runs. FC Sports’ Anus Badar and Afroz Hassan picked up 2 wickets each and the bowlers put pressure on the batsmen and bowled economically.
Although FC Sports lost one opener for a golden duck, their other opener Wasif Mustafa made 26 runs off 30 balls to take some pressure off the team. Afroz Hassan’s 28 runs and Zaeem Siddiqui’s 34 runs were crucial for the team, and Usman Khan’s 12 runs towards the end of the innings helped the team seal victory. BurnOut 40’s Ather Abid bagged 3 wickets while Obaid Anees picked up 2.
FC Sports won the match by 5 wickets.
