In a friendly game played at the RLCA Ground, Groove CC came head to head against the Friends Club, in a match that went right down to the wire, with the former team emerging victorious.
Batting first, Friends Club were off to a solid start with opener Ali scoring a confident 22 runs with the help of 2 fours. Middle order batsman Muneeb, then came out to dazzle the crowd, with a rapid 30 runs in only 18 balls, in an innings that included 3 boundaries and 1 maximum. Groove CC fought back into the game with Saud and Ahmed taking 2 wickets each, for 18 and 24 runs respectively. At the end of the innings, Friends Club scored 125 runs all out.
Groove CC, chasing an average total of 126, began in a rather confident and positive manner, with opener Adeel scoring a responsible 35 runs in 34 balls (1 four and 2 sixes). Fellow teammate Mansoor then played an equally responsible knock, making 32 runs in 31 balls, with the help of 3 fours and a six. However, Friends Club fought back with Faisal and Mujahid taking 3 wickets each. Nevertheless, Groove CC did not lose their nerve and crossed the finish line with 3 balls to spare.
