Bright Gymkhana batted first against Wonder Boys at the 20th Challengers Cup with opener Haider Bangash turning up for his side. The opener's sublime innings of 105 at a mammoth strike rate of 218 included 5 sixes to completely blow away the opposition. Shafaqat Ali also kept the runs flowing with his fiery 56 as Wonder Boys bowlers were completely helpless against the onslaught. Bright Gymkhana ended at a mammoth score of 220 for 5 in 20 overs. Wonder bowling duo of Kashif Kabra and Kashif Khan took 2 wickets each.
In response, Wonder Boys needed an extraordinary innings to chase down the target. The team however buckled under pressure, losing wickets constitently, unable to get going at any stage. Bright bowlers kept the momentum going with Danish Moin and Noor Shahbaz taking 3 wickets each. Shoaib Ibrahim also chipped in with 2 wickets as Wonder Boys were restricted to 139 for 9 in 20 overs. None of the batsmen were able to contribute effectively.
Bright Gymkhana won by 81 runs.
