The Semi Final of the SPL Season 4 took place with Al Zohaib Caracrete and Friends Communication battling it out for a spot in the final.
Al Zohaib batted first and what a show they put on. Haider Ali Bangash was absolutely sublime with 96 not out off just 62 balls, 7 fours and 3 sixes as Al Zohaib posted a mammoth target of 194 for the loss of just 5 wickets. Rameez Mehboob's handy 32 also proved to be valuable as Friends bowlers simply could not get the breakthroughs when needed. Bilal Iqbal lead the attack with his 2 wickets but could not stop the flow of runs.
In response, Friends Communication were off to a flying start in the chase and seemed poised for an easy win. Openers Ali Naveed and Shahvez Yaqoob set the tone with 45 and 61 while Ibrahim Akthar also chipped in with 21. The team however somehow lost their way after the top order was dismissed, throwing away their wickets to fall short of the target. Al Zohaib bowlers did well to pull their team back in the game, picking up quick wickets to restrict the opposition. Waqar Idrees took 3 wickets while Rana Ejaz and Fayyaz Hussain took 2 wickets each as Friends ended at 182 for 8 in 20 overs.
Al Zohaib won by 12 runs and are through to the final.
