Classic Garments batted first against BMCC at the 24th Challengers Cup.
Opener Ali Bantva gave a fine but slow start of 30 runs. Kamil Mehmood and Daniyal Shoaib from the middle order kept the scoreboard ticking with cameos of 21 and 25 runs respectively. Baber Malik also chipped in with a quick 29 runs but the team struggled to get going at any stage. BMCC bowlers did well to keep the opposition contained, picking up wickets and keeping things tight. Areeb Shaikh and Babar Aziz were the key wicket takers taking 2 wickets each to keep the pressure on. Classic Garments ended at 149 for 7 in 20 overs.
In the second half, Classic bowlers did a tremendous job and ripped apart the oppositions batting line-up except for one instance when Umair and Umer Khan were batting. Umair scored 38 while Umer Khan made 41 runs. None of the other batsmen dared to enter into the double-figures. The team got bowled out for 124 runs in the chase of an easy target. Hammad from Classic was the man of the day who bagged 5 wickets for just 24 runs to leave the BMCC line up in tatters.
Classic Garments won by 25 runs.
