Haseen Habib defeated Medicam in the 1st Delhi Community Cricket Tournament Final on Monday.
Medicam batted first and lost an early wicket. Their other opener Danish Rehan played a steady knock of 24 off 22 balls to try to bring his team back in the game. His efforts were supported by Abdul Majid’s 36 runs and Umer Lohya’s 18 runs. However, the remaining batsmen were unable to create strong partnerships or contribute runs, causing the team to reach a mediocre total of 137 runs. Haseen Habib’s Faizan Shoaib bagged 2 wickets and the bowling attack bowled economically without conceding too many runs.
In the second innings, one of Haseen Habib’s openers was dismissed for just 5 runs. However, opener Fawad Barry played a brilliant knock of 66 not out including 6 boundaries. His contributions helped the team cruise through the chase without feeling any pressure. He took the team over the line and led them to victory from the front. Medicam’s bowling attack was weak in the fact of Haseen Habib’s batsmen. Haseen Habib claimed the victory in the 18th over.
