Day 3 of the Bonanza Satrangi Women's cricket tournament came down to a one sided match between Athletic Club and Zain CC.
After 2 cracking semi finals that had been played earlier, the final however had defending champions Athletic Club dominating the entire match. Batting first, Athletic Club were in trouble early on after losing their opener Hafsa for duck. Star Subhana also fell for just 3 runs but Fatima Sana stepped up to lead her side. Her blistering knock of 69 off 28 balls included 7 boundaries and 4 huge sixes. She received support from the other end with Areeba also smashing a quick 10 off 3 lower down the order as Athletic Club posted an unchaseable target of 111 in 8 overs. Sana Taj and Mehak Ameen picked up a wicket each.
In response, Zain CC crumbled under pressure with their weakest performance in the entire tournament. The entire batting line up were dismissed in single digits with Areeba Hanif in particular picking up 3 wickets each. Rida also joined with a couple and Rameen took a wicket. Zain CC completely collapsed, being dismissed for 29 in 8 overs.
Athletic Club won by 82 runs and have now won the tournament 3 years straight!
