Ground Hawks batted first against Groove CC with Ali and Noman getting their team off to a solid start, Ali knocked 42 runs while Noman score 24. The team then lost a few quick wickets before Zubair and Hadi stepped in to save their side with contributions of 36 and 43 runs respectively to boost Ground Hawks to a very defendable 172 for 7 in 20 overs. Groove CC bowlers tried to contain the opposition but failed to do so with Saud and Ammad being their key bowlers, taking 2 wickets each.
In response, Groove CC completely collapsed in the chase. Ali, Mansoor and Saud were the only players to put up a fight with cameos in their twenties but were unable to keep their wickets intact and build an innings. Ground Hawks bowlers were brilliant in their spells with Sameer and Zubair taking 3 wickets each. Khalid and Furqan kept the pressure on picking up 2 wickets each as Groove CC were bowled out for 127 in 18.1 overs.
