Hush Puppies beat Khas XI by 48 runs to advance in the CPL Night Tournament, at the Moin Khan Academy.
Hush Puppies were first to bat and put on an impressive performance. Afnan Karim smashed 51 from 40 in the opening and Farhan Iqbal backed him up with 61 from 46 towards the middle. With an additional 26 extra runs, the total went up to 175 in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Imran Qamar took two wickets while Hassan Javed, Hassan Sohail, Qamar Saleem, Saqib Kaiser and Hassan Ashfaq took one each.
Khas XI were not as impressive as their opponents and fell well short of the target. Hassan Ashfaq made 26 from 29 while Khurram Mazhar made 22 from 16 and Farhan Iftikhar made 20 from 13. Waqas Ali Vohra dealt a devastating blow by taking four massive wickets while Ali Nisar Saleem and Mian Sharif took two each and Saqib Nisar and Faisal Ashraf took one each.
