In a group match of the Bohra Champions League 2017, played between the Bohra Cricket Club and Shabab Whites, on 30th July 2017, it was Huzaifa Mandvi who turned up the heat!
Bohra Cricket Club batted first with opener Idrees Cement Wala scoring 30 runs in 20 balls, with 5 fours. Two-down star batsman Naeem Tayyab scored 55 runs in just 38 balls, with six boundaries to lift them to 158, for the loss of 8 wickets, in their allotted 20 overs. Huzaifa Hassan starred with the ball for Shabab Whites, 3 wickets in his four overs conceding only 17 runs. Muntasir also chipped in with 2 wickets but with the foundation set by the batting side, none of them were able to stop the flow of runs.
Shabab Whites got off to a shaky start, with both openers being dismissed early. The only batsman who showed some resistance was Mustafa Qutbuddin, who made 34 of 15 balls but his effort was in vain as no other batsman could contribute. Huzaifa Mandvi was simply unplayable in his sublime spell of 5 wickets in his 4 overs giving only 16 runs sealing an easy victory over Shabab Whites, who were all out for 114 runs in 18 overs.
Bohra Cricket Club won the match by 44 runs.
