Insurance Assocation of Pakistan (IAP) batted first against Meezan Bank at the Challengers Corporate Cup with opener Rameez Mehboob turning up for his side. The seasoned star smashed 60 off 32 balls at the top to set a solid foundation for his side. His partner Umer Ishtiaq also knocked 30. The rest of the top order knocked a few cameos with Asfar Zaidi's 29 off 16 being the most notable of the lot. The team eventually ended at 176 for 8 in 20 overs. Meezan Bank bowlers did well to pull back the opposition in the later half of the game with Asfar Khan taking 3 wickets and Ayub Baig picking up a couple.
In reply, Meezan Bank lost opener Faisal Iqbal and continued to lose wickets after that. Sadaqat Ali's 30 and Kashif Altaf's 31 were the only points of hope for their side as the rest of the batting line up threw away their wickets. IAP bowlers were in form and on fire with Umer Noor's 4 for 24 bamboozling the opposition. Muhammad Iqbal also chipped in with 2 wickets as Meezan Bank were dismissed for 152 in 18.3 overs.
IAP won by 24 runs.
