The final of the Afsaneh presents KK & Multan Sultans KheloKhavateen tournament took place between Islamabad Strikers and Shalimar Cricket Academy Blue.
Islamabad Strikers won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Shalimar Cricket Academy Blue batted first and were all over the place, losing their top order cheaply with star opener Saleha Maqsood falling for duck. Saba Aslam and Rahat Zainab followed suit as the team continued to implode. Strikers bowlers did well to restrict the opposition with Humna Bilal turning up for her side to pick up 3 key wickets. Nazish Akram and Hina Shafiq tried to fight back with 25 and 20 respectively but the damage had been done. With 4 run outs and 2 wickets to Samina Bibi, Shalimar Cricket Academy Blue were dismissed for a low 79 in 17.3 overs.
In response, Strikers started off the chase in similar fashion, losing opener Nida Nasir for duck! Aima Saleem followed soon after with 10 runs but it was Maham who really carried her side. The one down batswoman scored 34 off 40 including 5 boundaries to set up an easy victory. Captain Naila Nazir also chipped in with 12 off 11 but there was a last minute twist with 3 of their players being run out in a hurry to score the winning run. Eventually, it was a wide that got Strikers to victory in 14 overs. Hina Shafiq, Nazish Akram and Komal Jabbar took 1 wicket each.
Islamabad Strikers won by 4 wickets and are champions of the KheloKhavateen Islamabad Tournament.
