Jeeva Associate batted first against Memon CC in a nail biting match. Opener Javed Ansari got his team off with a fine start with a knock of 47 runs at a strike rate of 188. One-down Wahab further steered his side towards a good total with his 38 runs. A knock of 24 runs by a middle-order batsman Naseem also helped Jeeva Associate to set a competitive total of 177 runs on the scoreboard. Shahrukh from Memon CC was outstanding with the ball and bagged 5 wickets helping his team to bowl the opposition out in 20 overs.
Memon CC, in their turn, gave extremely a tough competition and kept the match unpredictable till the last ball. Opener Hassan Marfani was on fire and played a staggering knock of 154 runs at a strike rate of 360. Sumair Yaseen then continued to score runs but he was a bit slow in doing his job. He added 30 runs from his side to the total. Omair Zaheer’s 24 runs also brought Memon CC close to the target but they were just short of 4 runs from achieving it in the allotted 20 overs. Jeeva CC bowlers did not take too many wickets but only did what they were required to do. They stopped the opposition from chasing the target and limited them to 174 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Ayub was the leading wicket-taker from Jeeva CC claiming 2 wickets.
