Jinnah XI beat QP Star by 16 runs in a match on Wednesday.
Batting first, Jinnah XI were off to a mediocre start. Openers Imran and Hamza made 12 runs and 19 runs respectively. The middle order struggled to contribute and were dismissed for single digit scores. However, lower order batsmen Moazzam smashed 40 runs off 30 balls in an effort to set a decent total for his team. Israr also managed 18 runs, and the team reached a total of 131 runs. QP Star’s Hassaan, Jaseem Ansari and Raheel Iftikhar took 2 wickets each.
QP Star had a hard time with the bat as their openers got dismissed for a duck and 7 runs. Their middle order were easily dismissed and were unable to offer resistance to the bowling attack. Late knocks by Muhammad Arshad (35 off 25 balls), Arsalan Ali Khan (26 off 16 balls) and Sameed (18 off 14 balls) pushed the team forward but their efforts were not enough to take their side over the line. They managed just 115 runs. Jinnah XI’s bowlers dominated by bowling economically. Atif, Hamza, Zia and Arslan picked up 2 wickets each.
