In a Group B fixture of the 17th Challengers Cup, Wonder Boys were up against Shan XI, in a match played at the Asifabad Ground.
Batting first, the Wonder Boys were off to a confident start with both openers striking the ball cleanly to all parts of the ground. Madni Bawany led the onslaught with a 30 ball knock of 36 runs (2 fours and a six) while fellow opener Muhammad Nawaz contributed 20 runs, with a four and a six. However, it was Kamran Ibrahim who lit the first innings up, bamboozling the batsmen with his bowling. His figures of 4 overs, 17 runs and 5 wickets were key in restricting the Wonder Boys to just 133 runs.
Shan XI began their chase in a rather hesitant manner, losing their top order cheaply. However, Kamran Ibrahim rose to the occasion again, with a fantastic 60 runs in only 33 balls, with 4 fours and 4 sixes, to put the Shan XI in the driving seat. Lower order batsman Akhtar Mohammad, finished off the chase in style with a swift 38 runs, with 1 boundary and 3 sixes to his name. For the Wonder Boys, Sajid Ashfaq took 2 wickets for 12 runs in his 4 overs.
Shan XI won the match by 3 wickets.
